Law in a nutshell
Failure to provide a proper standard of service to vulnerable clients, is a regulatory risk for solicitors. It significantly increases the risk of financial loss to both the client and to the firm. The client may lose cash, property and other assets. The firm may suffer claims for negligence, breach of trust, and regulatory sanctions. You cannot act for a client if they (or a person legally appointed on their behalf) cannot give you their instructions.
