Law in a nutshell
A common reason for regulators taking disciplinary action against lawyers and law firms, is the failure to follow the regulator’s Accounts Rules. When money has been improperly taken from Client Account by a colleague lawyer, or a member of the Accounts team, it is not a good excuse to say: “but I’m a lawyer, I don’t do numbers or understand accounts!”
