A dementia diagnosis does not automatically preclude them from making a Lasting Power of Attorney - or even a will, for that matter. The key issue is whether they have the required mental capacity at the relevant time. Early stage dementia is very different to advanced dementia; so you need to take appropriate steps when seeing a client with any dementia-related issues.
